Hi I’m Sarah, a busy mum of 2 boys.
Being a parent means there’s plenty of mess to clean up and a never-ending pile of laundry – I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve tried to salvage spaghetti-stained clothes!
Over the years, I’ve tried many well-known brands of stain removers, all claiming to remove tough stains and make whites white again, but they just haven’t worked well for me. So, my mum recommended trying ACE.
My first experience was with their Stain Remover Spray. My toddler stained one of his favourite outfits with dreaded tomato pasta sauce, so what better way to put the product to the test! I blogged about my experience over on Instagram, an account I set up back in July, showing the amazing before and after results and let’s just say I was stunned! It completely removed the stain like it never even existed! And this is where my love for ACE began!
A few weeks later, ACE contacted me on Instagram and challenged me to put their ACE for Whites and ACE for Colours to the test, by attempting to remove more household stains from a white and coloured t-shirt. I quickly accepted as I was intrigued to see whether their other products worked just as well as their Stain Remover Spray…
For the white t-shirt, I stained it with coffee, make up bronzer and the dreaded tomato pasta sauce of course!
Then, I poured ACE for Whites directly onto the stains, left it to work its magic for 30 minutes in water before popping the t-shirt into the washing machine along with my regular washing detergent and fabric softener (The Pink Stuff laundry detergent and Comfort Winter Sparkle fabric softener).
For the grey t-shirt, I used mud, tomato ketchup and felt pen; but I was also intrigued to see how well ACE for Colours would perform on a greasy stain, so I selected spray cooking oil for my final stain.
In the past, I’ve found greasy stains tend to linger for a while even after stain removal treatment, so I was quite curious to see what would happen! Similar to the white t-shirt, I poured ACE for Colours directly onto the stains and let it soak with water for 30 minutes, then added it to my washing along with my normal laundry routine/products.
And now the results…
As soon as I took the t-shirts out of the washing machine, I was blown away by how clean and fresh they looked – almost as if the stains never existed! Well done ACE!
I cannot recommend ACE enough and both ACE for Whites and ACE for Colours (550ml) can be purchased from Savers!
