Here at Savers, people are at the heart of everything we do! That’s why we are passionate about ensuring our stores and customers can choose to support our charity partner, Marie Curie, through lots of different ways.
We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we have raised over £10million for Marie Curie, and alongside Superdrug, over the last 9 years. This is enough to fund over 500,000 hours of Marie Curie nursing care, or 55,500 overnight nursing shifts or 4 months of running costs for all 9 of Marie Curie’s hospices! At Savers, we know how much Marie Curie care and support means to our customers, especially in the run up to Christmas.
We wanted to shout out some brilliant stores and colleagues for their efforts! Congratulations to our top 5 fundraising stores Plymouth, Bognor Regis, Southport, Exeter and Perry Barr, and thank you to their amazing customers for helping us to support Marie Curie.
From Great Daffodil Appeal fundraising every March, to some sponsored Savers tick tattoos and lots of miles ran, walked, swam and cycled in between. We want to share a bit about our partnership and how you can get involved or get help if you need it.
About Marie Curie
Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end of life charity, here to support everyone through terminal illness, bereavement and grief. Their nurses work night and day in people’s homes, and in their hospices, offering specialist care. Their information and support teams help people feel reassured, informed and empowered to face what’s happening in their lives.
Marie Curie’s campaigns influence decision-makers and give a voice to people whose lives are touched by terminal illness and bereavement. Despite the pandemic causing a devastating loss of funds for the charity, Marie Curie nurses, support staff and services continued to be there for people and families across the UK, adapting to the needs of local communities, delivering care and relieving pressure on the NHS.
Always here for you
Caring for your loved ones can be less scary when there’s someone to talk to. Marie Curie is here for you, to give advice, information, or just listen. To get in touch visit mariecurie.org.uk/support or call 0800 090 2309
