Sustainability is such a vital part of our everyday, crazy life! With people turning their backs on fast fashion, revamping and refreshing existing wardrobe favourites is becoming more and more popular. This is made super easy to do with Dylon in-drum dyes! Learn how you can spruce up your old clothes to keep them going and how to change your whole look in just one wash!
Fun Fact: Did you know that the dyeing process of Dylon consumes only 60 litres of water whereas the production of a single pair of new jeans consumes about 8000 litres of water!
Easy to use!
The Dylon in-drum dyes are so easy to use! All you need to do is unwrap the pod and pop in the drum with the clothes or fabrics that you would like to refresh! 1 pod can dye up to 600g of fabric and is suitable for cotton, linen and viscose fabrics. Products that are mixed synthetics may dye lighter and full synthetic fabrics will not dye, so keep this in mind before you pop in the wash!
Step-by-step:
1. Put pre-washed wet fabrics in your machine with an unwrapped colour pod. (Can use up to 5 pods in a wash depending on desired intensity)
2. Run full cotton cyle at 40 degrees (no eco / water saving cyles)
3. Wash the fabrics in one more cycle with detergent.
4. Clean the machine by running one empty cycle with detergent.
Please read leaflet on top of Pod for detailed instructions. Only suitable for front loading washing machines.
Top Tip: Remember colour theory applies if you try to dye a red top blue, you might get purple!
Dylon’s Mission
Dylon is passionate about reducing the carbon emissions of the fashion industry, so they have launched the ‘Re-Dye Don’t Re-Buy’ initiative! This encourages people to create something new out of what they already have at home rather than going out and buying something new. They have commissioned an academic report that looks at the environmental impact of re-dyeing vs re-buying! (This report can be found here)
