When it comes to checking off your house cleaning chores, who else leaves the floors until the very end? Not just us, then? It can feel like a momentous (and quite frankly, tedious) task, especially when you have various floor types around the house. However, at Savers, we’re here to tell you it doesn’t have to be that way! Keep your floors sparkling clean, no matter the type of surface, with our top tips on how to care and clean for your floors.
How to clean carpets
Dust, dirt, pet hairs, food, liquids, bacteria – you name it – carpet will attract it and soak it up quicker than you can scream, ‘get me a cloth!’. So, if you experience any unfortunate spills or stains, tackle them as soon as possible with a carpet stain remover. Once you have spot treated any stubborn stains, it’s time to get out the hoover. We recommend you hoover the house at least twice a week to keep your carpets looking spic and span.
However good your hoover may be, if you have a pet at home, there’s a chance it may leave behind odours or a few stray hairs! So whatever mess your furry friend leaves behind, tackle it with the Insette Carpet Mousse to not just leave your carpets incredibly clean but smelling oh-so-fresh too!
To keep your carpets cleaner for longer, remember to take your shoes off at the door and encourage your guests to do so as well. We can’t, however, stop little feet or muddy paws dashing across your clean carpets Sorry!

How to clean laminate floors
Fancy the look of wooden floors in your home but don’t have time for the upkeep? Then laminate flooring will do the trick! Laminate flooring is very low maintenance; it doesn’t require any polishing or soap-based detergents to keep it looking its very best. Instead, simply vacuum, dust, or wipe the surface using a damp mop to keep it sparkling clean. But remember, never use abrasive cleaning sponges, such as wire wool, as this can scratch the laminate. Instead, if you can see scuffs or stubborn stains, use a mix of water and vinegar with a soft cloth, and the mark should lift right off!

How to clean wooden floors
Wooden floors are an interior lovers’ dream – right? They can look super-luxe when cared for, but they can get very dirty incredibly quickly if you live in a busy home!
For sealed wooden floors, you only need to sweep up any debris with a broom and then go over with a damp mop, such as the Flash Speed Mop (no need for a mop and bucket with this beauty). For unsealed floors, give it a regular once over with your broom and re-polish it using wooden floor wax when it’s looking a little lived on!
Wooden floors, in any state, need to be cared for regularly with extra love and attention, so be careful not to go overboard with water, wax, or polish as it can cause more damage than good.
How to clean vinyl floors
Do you have vinyl flooring in your home? If so, pat yourself on the back as it is one of the easiest floor types to keep clean! Sweep away any debris with a broom or pick it up with your hoover, and tackle liquid spillages, grime or grease with a handy pack of anti-bacterial floor wipes or mop and multi-purpose, freshly scented floor cleaner.

If you have a steam cleaner (home cleaner level: expert), this will work wonders on your ceramic flooring too!
