Hey there, fellow ‘Savers’!

At Savers we understand the importance of making sustainable choices where we can, and in a world where climate change and environmental issues are at the forefront of concerns for many of us, it’s no surprise that more and more people are trying to make sustainable choices in our lives. But what happens when the gap between what we say we’ll do and what we actually do remains wide open? How can we, as a community, bridge this “say-do gap” when it comes to our shopping habits and make a real difference for our environment?

First things first, we’ve all been there. Full of good intentions, we say we’ll try harder to take reusable bags out shopping with us, or that we’ll buy products with eco-friendly labels, or reduce our plastic consumption, but sometimes this doesn’t play out in reality. Don’t worry; you’re not alone! The key is recognising it and taking gradual steps towards being more eco-conscious, because the small steps matter. It’s easy to underestimate the power of small actions, but collectively, they can create a massive ripple effect. In this blog we’ll share some ideas to #beasaver, by highlighting some simple yet impactful ways to start closing that say-do gap:

1. What can you reuse? 

Carry reusable bags, water bottles or coffee cups with you wherever you go. Small actions like these significantly reduce single-use plastic waste and show that you’re committed to making a difference.  And if you start today, this will be a new habit in the making!

2. Reduce food waste

Plan your meals, buy only what you need, and compost food scraps. This not only reduces waste but can also lower your carbon footprint.

3. Buy sustainable products or brands

Whether it’s a handwash refill instead of buying a new pump bottle, switching laundry detergent so you can wash cooler, or trying a shampoo bar instead of buying another bottle, we believe these choices shouldn’t cost the earth, and we have a great range of products available in-store and online.
